Ingredient Notes
- Vodka
- Lemon Lavender Haus
- lemon
- ginger beer
- lavender bitters
With its natural lemon and lavender flavors, Haus is really the star of the show. Made like a fortified wine, there are flavors of Chardonnay grapes and brandy which make the flavor complex and so yummy.
It’s currently not for sale on their site. The company has new owners and I’m hopeful they will produce this version again. I do share other options to make this drink below if you don’t have Haus.
The addition of lavender bitters amplifies that floral flavor that I LOVE.
If you don’t have Haus, you can use:
- Lavender Tea (like simple syrup but without sugar – for more concentrated flavor without making something overly sweet).
- Make lavender simple syrup.
- Buy lavender syrup.
- Infuse vodka with lavender.
- Lavender liquor. (There are a variety of brands out there although they are a bit hard to find).
- Or you can just leave it out and add the flavor with only the bitters.
- Or follow this Lemonade Mule recipe and use my Lavender Lemonade in place of regular lemonade.
The typical lime is swapped out in favor of lemon in this sunny drink. Use fresh juice to make the flavor super bright.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
To a copper Moscow Mule mug filled with ice, add the Lemon Lavender Haus. If you don’t have Haus, you can move on to the next step.
Step 2
Add your favorite vodka. I like Tito’s.
Step 3
Add the fresh lemon juice. I just got this citrus squeezer and it’s a game-changer for cocktail making.
Step 4
Top with ginger beer.
Step 5
Add a few drops of lavender bitters. This is powerful stuff so only start with a few drops. You can always add more but you can’t it away.
Give it a quick stir and you’re ready to enjoy this Lemon Lavender Moscow Mule.
Tips and Tricks
- Seriously, be careful with the lavender bitters. Too many drops will ruin this drink.
- If making these Haus Mules for a group, pre-squeeze your lemon juice ahead of time! The drinks will come together much faster.
- I love Reed’s brand Ginger Beer, but any brand will work.
- You can use other flavors of Haus to make Moscow Mules too. Just leave out the lavender bitters and replace them with regular bitters.
Frequently Asked Questions
A copper mug is designed to react to the temperature of what’s inside it. So when sipping a chilled Moscow Mule, the cold sensation is heightened even more. It makes for an awesome cocktail experience. But you can drink a Haus Mule out of another type of glass and it will still be delicious.
While there are some “hard” ginger beers on the market, most ginger beer is non-alcoholic. Like root beer, it’s similar to ginger ale, but has more of a ginger bite.
This Haus Mule can mostly be made in a shaker. A shaker gets things nice and cold and mixed really well. Add your ingredients, minus the ginger beer to a shaker, then add ice. Shake well, strain over fresh ice and top with ginger beer. Do NOT shake ginger beer. The carbonation could explode.

I can’t seem to find lemon lavender haus? Any suggestions?
I’m so sorry I’m just seeing this comment right now! Haus is out of business at the moment. I’m trying to figure out how to update all my old content and recipes. I think the best swap would be to probably use 1 ounce of lemon instead of .5 and then use lavender bitters as well as several drops of regular bitters.
