Why You’ll Love This Sangria Recipe
Cinnamon Whisky Sangria is a must-make party drink to share with friends.
I will admit to being slightly low-key obsessed with this Fireball punch.
Each time you take a sip you can feel the heat of the cinnamon whiskey on the back of your throat, but it’s not overly spicy.
It has a wonderful cinnamon flavor, and I love that the orange slices give it a subtle citrus hint the longer you leave them to infuse in the sangria.

Like a typical sangria, the recipe gets more flavor the longer it sits. Which is great for your holiday party planning! Make it and forget it. If you can. You’re going to want to dive right in.
With a delicious flavor and festive look (thanks to the cinnamon sticks and orange slices) this Fireball Sangria is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any fall, winter or holiday gatherings!

Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make this Fireball Sangria recipe:
- Fireball whisky
- cranberry juice
- sparkling wine
- Triple Sec
- sliced oranges
- cinnamon sticks
- fresh cranberries, optional or for garnish
Don’t choose a fancy sparkling wine here, as long as it is drinkable it will work as you’re mixing it with so many different flavors. Pick something dry like Cava if you can to help balance out the sweetness of the Fireball and the cranberry juice.
If you happen to be out of Triple Sec don’t sweat it, Grand Marnier will also work here as will Cointreau, but those are more expensive.
I don’t think that fresh cranberries impart much flavor. They look cute in the pitcher but they really won’t add much flavor to the recipe. If you want to add them you can, or you can just add them as a garnish.

Directions
Step 1
Add the orange slices and cinnamon sticks to a large pitcher.
Step 2
Add the Fireball.
Step 3
Add the cranberry juice and the Triple Sec.
Step 4
Then add the sparkling wine.
Step 5
Stir lightly before leaving it to infuse for 1 hour – 4 hours.
While I’m not sure a whole other batch would fit in that pitcher, you can see how easy it is to make quite a lot of this Fireball Sangria for a crowd.
To Serve
To serve this sparkling cinnamon punch, just pour over fresh ice in a glass.
I also love that you can do so much with the garnish. I like to serve good looking (as well as great tasting!) drinks to my guests
An orange slice and/or cinnamon stick look great in the glass. Fresh cranberries add an extra festive touch (don’t bother adding them to the pitcher as they won’t add much flavor).
Variations
- Use spiced cranberry juice – add an extra layer of flavor by using my homemade spiced cranberry juice.
- Up the orange flavor – the orange flavor will increase the longer the sangria sits, but you can add 1/2 – 1 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice for a more citrusy drink.
- Make a summer version – this sangria with Fireball is the ultimate fall pitcher cocktail, but you can make a summer version simply by adding a load more fresh fruit (like lemons and limes) and removing the cinnamon sticks. You’ll still get a cinnamon kick from the Fireball but it won’t taste so much of the holidays.
- Add rosemary – I know some people don’t like herbs anywhere near their drinks, but if you do a fresh rosemary sprig added at the beginning of this drink, or even just as a garnish in each glass so you get to enjoy that lovely festive smell is quite nice. Or try sugared rosemary!
Frequently Asked Questions
After 4 hours in the fridge the sparkling wine will loose too much of it’s fizz, so make it without and add a chilled bottle of sparkling wine just before serving the sangria. You won’t have as strong a flavor as the wine has not also infused with the cinnamon sticks and orange slices, but you’ll still have made a super tasty drink for sharing.
Apple cider works really well with Fireball, and pear and cinnamon work so well together I can’t see why you can’t use some of that fancy pear juice from the store here instead either. Do let me know how it works out!
