There is NOTHING better than the smell of popping popcorn. Well, maybe the smell of babies, but you canโ€™t eat them soโ€ฆ

Hey Los Angeles! Come to the US Weekly Family Movie Night at the Grove!
What to pack for your outdoor movie night. You don't only have to watch movies in your living room! Get your family out of the house and take these essentials with you! (ad) #PopcornPartyTime

Nothing draws people together like someone popping microwave popcorn. And Orville Redenbacherโ€™s Popcorn is the best. Thereโ€™s a sense of community around a shared bowl of popped goodness. This fall, Orville Redenbacherโ€™s Movies in the Park series will take place around the country and will draw families out under the stars to watch an outdoor movie and share popcorn. If you are in the Los Angeles or Orange County area, they are putting on a fun event at the Grove this week!US Weeklyโ€™s Family Movie Night is happening Thursday, August 20, at 6:30 p.m. My kids and I canโ€™t wait to go! The event is open to the public, and if you havenโ€™t been to the Grove yet, it is lovely! I canโ€™t think of a better place to see an outdoor movie. Itโ€™s sure to be a super fun family night! And Orville Redenbacherโ€™s Popcorn will be on hand to make sure you have your popcorn fix!We are lucky that our community hosts outdoor movie nights during the summer. If you havenโ€™t been to an outdoor movie before, I thought I would share a few tips for what you should bring along. These things have become essential to our successful outdoor-movie-going adventures.

You definitely want to bring a big blanket to put on the grass. Some places also allow small, low-backed chairs, but make sure you at least have a blanket that your family can get cozy on. It works as a picnic blanket while you are waiting for the movie to start, and then becomes a super low-budget version of one of those newfangled reclining movie seats. Make sure you all bring a sweatshirt or jacket to put on since it is likely to be a little bit chilly. If you have the space, bring a second blanket to put over the top of you so you can get extra cozy.

Essentials for your next outdoor movie night. Including but not limited to popcorn. Because, duh. (ad)

And donโ€™t forget the snacks! Our favorite is Orville Redenbacherโ€™s Movie Theater Butter microwave popcorn. So good! I canโ€™t even believe how convenient these microwave popcorn bags are now. They pop right up in a matter of minutes and then the top tears off and it turns into a bowl! Itโ€™s genius! Along with my salty snack, I like something sweet. You have to have chocolate. Even just a few little squares will do. And Iโ€™m a big fan of gummy candiesโ€”in this case, gummy lobsters.Donโ€™t forget napkins or wipes to clean up little hands after eating all that delicious, fluffy popcorn. And be sure to bring enough water for everyone in your family. There is nothing worse than being thirsty! I tend to overpack for things, but weโ€™ve got these outdoor movies down to a science. Bring enough stuff to keep you happy but not so much that it becomes a burden and you donโ€™t want to bother going anymore.Letโ€™s talk for a second about how excited I am for US Weeklyโ€™s Family Movie Night! I canโ€™t wait to watch a movie with my family under the stars! Itโ€™s open to everyone, so no RSVP is required! Weโ€™re totally going to get our popcorn on in Lala Land! And the Grove is SO pretty! Being in the heart of L.A. means you never know who you are going to see. Iโ€™ve walked past Weird Al there, yโ€™all!Kids love popcorn.
Will I see you in LA?
