I get it. As a busy mom, I want my own snacks to be delicious and fast too. I’m always encouraging my kids to make sure they are getting enough protein to keep them full and not reach for junk to feel satisfied.
Finding ways to get more fresh fruit into their diet has proven to be a challenge so I’m always looking for ways to make it more fun for them. This fruit dip with yogurt is such a great snack idea!
Target truly is a mom’s best friend. I’m able to purchase everything I need for this super simple after-school snack idea, plus, you know, just about anything else I could ever possibly want (including stupid cute bathroom towels, an air mattress, and adorable shoes). That’s the kind of place that moms feel taken care of.
How to Make Chocolate and Yogurt Fruit Dip
This easy fruit dip needs just a few ingredients and takes 5 minutes to put together. My favorite part is that the base is Dannon® Oikos® Triple Zero Greek Yogurt. It has 15 grams of protein so I know that my sons will be full and happy after this snack.
By using cocoa powder, and a little sweetener (maple syrup) it gives the kids a totally new way to enjoy yogurt.
Raw cocoa powder is full of antioxidants which is great! And who doesn’t love chocolate!
The Dannon® Oikos® Triple Zero is pretty perfect on its own. It has 0 fat, and no added sugar or artificial sweeteners, which I love!
But after adding the bitter raw cocoa powder, you’ll need to sweeten it back up a little. Just a small amount of pure maple syrup really helps to bring out the chocolate flavor.
This recipe was so easy! I taught my son to make it and now this is one of his go-to snacks. He thinks it’s delicious and he’s totally right! And I love that he can make this himself!! Mom win.
Even though we made it to be a yogurt fruit dip, I gave him some sliced almonds and pretzel sticks to put on top. I love the crunch they add and the sweet and salty combo never disappoints in my book!
I plan on always having Dannon® Oikos® Triple Zero Greek Yogurt on hand, not only for after-school snacks but also for breakfast parfaits, smoothies and my other favorite yogurt fruit dip recipe (if you love vanilla, you’ve got to check it out!).
SO GOOD! I’ve got a wicked sweet tooth and this will really help me not go for something that will totally derail my diet efforts! It’s crazy good with fresh fruit! It’s like a chocolate dipped strawberry but better and easier!
Since I work at home, I keep “office hours” and don’t take many breaks, especially to prepare meals or snacks. While I’ll stop when the kids get home, to help them get settled after school, I need quick and easy snacks that I can grab and get back to my work.
These Dannon® Light & Fit Greek Yogurts come in a ton of great flavors, have 12 grams of protein and only 80 calories! So mom friendly!
And I should really buy a Christmas stocking for Dannon® Danimals® since they have been a snack staple for my kids since they were very small. I feel like they’re part of our family.
My kids love the flavors (the strawberry banana flavor has always been a big hit in our house), and I love that they are a good source of calcium and super convenient to give to the kids as they read or work on homework.
Our after-school snacks are totally taken care of thanks to these awesome Dannon® products.
I know your kids will love this Chocolate and Yogurt Fruit Dip just like my kids! And, just to be clear, you’re going to love it too! After school snack time will be a great way for us to all catch up after a long day.
