Best Frozen Margarita
With just 3-ingredients, this is the Best Frozen Margarita Recipe to make for a crowd.
I’m a BIG fan of the margarita! While I love them on the rocks, I love them, even more, when they’re slushy and cold!
The limeade concentrate makes it easy to end up with a pitcher full of frosty deliciousness.
These frozen margaritas are a great cocktail to make at home. You’ll find me sipping these all summer long.
The Best Frozen Margarita Recipe to Make This Summer
These delicious limeade margaritas are super simple to make and are totally refreshing and sweet!
A few summers ago I discovered that I really enjoy tequila. Or rather tequila-based cocktails.
I’ve never been a shots kind of a girl and I don’t think my late 30’s, with two small children, is the time to start.
(UPDATE: I’m now 43 and it turns out I don’t mind a tequila shot…)
This is one of my favorite frozen margarita recipes. There are a lot of different ways to make them but of all of the ones I’ve tried over the years. This is the recipe I go back to time and time again.

I love the flavor of limes. And while a classic recipe needs triple sec and tequila, this recipe uses limeade to maximize the flavor.
While I still prefer my Skinny Margarita recipe for an everyday cocktail, this is the best Frozen Limeade Margarita recipe that is perfect for extra hot summer days. And it’s a great recipe for a crowd!
You won’t believe how easy it is to make this frozen margarita pitcher recipe.
Ingredients
I have to give credit to my sister for sharing this recipe with me. I tested these drinks out when she was visiting. And she was like you need to try this super easy margarita with limeade.

- canned limeade concentrate
- tequila
- orange liqueur
- ice
Do not make the limeade. Keep it frozen until ready to use.
I used Cointreau, but Triple Sec works also. If you don’t have either, you can add a splash of orange juice or skip it altogether.
You may need to add a little water to make it less lime-y if you skip the liqueur.
The recipe calls for a can of ice. Depending on how frozen your limeade is, you may need to add more to get that super frosty texture.
I added a few more cans of ice and it didn’t dilute the flavor hardly at all.
The limeade is full of flavor because it’s a concentrate and you aren’t diluting it by making as directed on the package.
How to make the best Frozen Margaritas
Special tools
You will need a high-powered blender to make these frosty and smooth. I have a Ninja blender that breaks up the ice really nicely.
You can make this in a regular blender but it will probably end up with larger chunks of ice.
Add the limeade concentrate to your blender.
Use the empty can to measure out the rest of your ingredients.
This makes this recipe so fast to make!
Blend it up!
If you think it’s too thin, add more ice and blend again.
Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately. Or, if you prefer, you can rim a glass with salt before adding the yummy cocktail. It’s up to you.
These Frozen Margaritas do separate pretty quickly so you can use a spoon to mix them up or serve it with a straw for mixing.
I don’t usually enjoy frozen cocktails but for this, I make an exception. SO good!
And since you make them by the pitcher, these are the best frozen margaritas to make for parties or if you just don’t want to have to make your cocktails one at a time.
Here’s my favorite place to buy cocktail glasses. While you can serve any cocktail in any glass, it is fun to have pretty drinkware to make sipping a cocktail even more of an experience.

So we do not take credit for creating this recipe. Just drinking it and letting you know that it is so very tasty.
What type of tequila should I use in a Limeade Margarita
I’m no tequila expert but there are some that are better than others. Choose a brand that you like the flavor of to ensure that you like the margaritas.
While some people may say that it’s ok to use cheap tequila in mixed drinks, I’m not in that camp. Don’t put yourself in debt over the tequila, either. But choose a nice one.
My favorites are Casamigos Blanco and DeLeon Platinum.
And you will notice there is no salt in these photos because I don’t like it anywhere near my margaritas. But you do what you need to do.

Who doesn’t love frozen margaritas! How hard is it to add flavors to this recipe for margaritas?? How do you do that? I don’t enjoy the pre-mixed stuff because it is too sweet. But I do love a good strawberry margarita too. LOL
It would be super easy to add more flavors! A flavored simple syrup would give your frozen margarita the best, most concentrated flavor!
Is there a way to make this frozen margarita recipe as a mocktail? I bet a limeade slushie would be good (not the same, though! LOL!!)
Yes, you are basically just making frozen limeade. Which is still good. But I really do love how the tequila breaks up the sweetness.
Whenever I think about margaritas, it’s instant summer in my mind. Might need to whip up a batch or two of this frozen margarita recipe to hold me over until July! ;)
For sure! A slushy drink is always a good idea. You just may need a sweater this time of year. :)

Not nearly enough ice. I had to use four cans to get the proper consistency. Also used 1/3rd can of tequila because 3/4 can is insanity. Turned out perfect.
These photos are amazing and scream summer! I’m a patron fan myself. ;)
A mom of two taking shots, giggles.
Thanks doll! Yeah, shots and kids = one heck of a hard morning after. :)
