Mexico Vacation Spot We Love

I’m always on the hunt for great Mexico family vacation spots. But I also love to plan a trip with just my hubby. It’s been a while since we’ve been able to sneak away to Mexico on our own though.

In fact, our last south of the border trip together was for our 10 year wedding anniversary to Cabo. And seeing as we just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary, we are due for another Mexican adventure ASAP!

We stayed at the Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa. We chose it based on a neighbor’s recommendation as well as the location. And we had the best, most relaxing time ever.

Our routine included lounging by the ocean for most of the day followed by moving on to the pool area. We were there for 5 days, which was the perfect amount of time to rest and recharge.

And while we were there by ourselves, there were tons of families vacationing there too. It’s really the perfect resort for everyone.

This was the view from our room (6 years ago). We spent a lot of time on that patio enjoying the gorgeous weather. And margaritas.

They’ve added even more amazing features since then! But planning travel really stresses me out. I love to go on trips, but I have a really hard time booking things myself. I always think I am going to schedule my flights wrong. And I hate trying to figure out transportation to and from the airport. Luckily, on this trip – my hubby took care of it.

This is the pool where my hubby and I spent all our afternoons. The grounds of the resort are tranquil and gorgeous. But what I really loved was the location. It’s about 15 minutes to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo which means it is set a little bit outside of the hustle and the bustle of the touristy areas.

It’s easy to get to from the airport, and it’s nice and quiet.

We never left the resort. But if you want to, it’s just a quick drive to restaurants, shopping or one of the 8 championship golf courses surrounding the resort.

But why leave when everything you need is right on the property? There is an adults-only pool with personalized concierge service and a heated infinity pool for families with a waterslide and children’s area.

I loved the design of the room. It was the perfect size for a couple. But they also offer family suites and one-bedroom suites that accommodate up to 6 people.

The property has 7 restaurants including this super fun seaside grill plus a few bars.

They have a large, world-class spa, including couple’s treatment rooms and also offer treatments in ocean-front Palapas. That was an experience I will never forget!

It’s the perfect location for a beach-side wedding (you should see the gorgeous gazebo!) and they also have conference areas to suit any meeting or business need!

And there are lots of activities to keep you busy. The resort takes part in a turtle release program that usually happens July to December with guests sometimes getting to witness this. They set up movie nights on the beach, and keep everyone entertained with pool parties and live entertainment.

There is also a kid’s club if you decide to bring your family with you.

And these pretty horses were on the beach in front of the hotel resort on a few evenings. They were not provided by the hotel resort and you had to pay the owner if you wanted to ride them, but what a gorgeous way to spend a sunset!

Cabo Excursions

The resort can also help you set up Cabo excursions. These are not included in the cost of the hotel stay and are handled by third-party companies.

There are amazing golf courses in the area for those that want to play a few rounds. And the area is perfect for water sports, whale watching, yachting and so much more! You can also ride ATVs on the beach!
