Kombucha Moscow Mule Recipe
I’ve been enjoying kombucha lately. So I got to thinking. Kombucha would make a great substitution for the ginger beer! This Kombucha Moscow Mule is super simple to make and tastes amazing! It’s one of my favorite Moscow Mule recipes to make when I want something tangy and delicious!
This Kombucha Mule can be made with just about any flavor of kombucha. I used a lemon ginger version for this recipe because I wanted to still have some of that yummy ginger taste like you expect from the classic mule recipe. But I also think a tart cherry version, like I used in this Kombucha Mimosa, would be delicious! A mule is only as good as your copper mug. Ok, that’s not really true, but copper mugs are awesome. These mugs from Moscow Muled are made with 100% pure high-grade and food safe copper. Plus they’re lined with high-grade nickel to make sure they are the safest for you to drink from. They are handcrafted and while they look pretty similar, each of them is slightly different which I think is cool. I noticed a Moscow Mule with Kombucha on the Moscow Muled blog and used it as the inspiration for my own recipe.
How to Make a Kombucha Moscow Mule
I loved the idea of using cucumber in this mule recipe. So I decided to make some cucumber vodka. It’s SO easy to make flavored vodka. You just need to give yourself a few days for the vodka to infuse and then your set! I like to make it rather than using flavored vodka that you buy at the store because the flavor is so clean. Like a classic Moscow Mule, you need vodka, fresh lime juice and mint. I used Koe Kombucha since that is what I had at home. You can find kombucha at most grocery stores and even Target.
I started by adding my cucumber vodka. It was delicious! Then add the fresh lime juice. I’m a big fan of fresh lime juice. It’s the key to a good cocktail. Then, where you would usually add the ginger beer, simply use kombucha instead. It’s such an easy swap!
Finish your Kombucha Mule with fresh mint. I used a slice of lime and cucumber as a garnish but let’s be honest, sometimes garnish is more trouble than it’s worth. If it’s not your jam, just skip it!
What I love about using copper mugs for my mules is that they get so nice and frosty! It’s such a refreshing drink. The cucumber vodka gives it the perfect amount of cucumber flavor. It helps tone down the tanginess of the kombucha. If you don’t have your own copper mugs yet, be sure to grab some from Moscow Muled! I use mine all the time! They are a great gift idea!!!
