2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Review
A few weeks ago, Hyundai sent me a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to test drive. It was REALLY fun to drive and I was so bummed when it was time to give it back! Here are the reasons I enjoyed the Santa Fe Sport.*As part of my job as an influencer, I am sometimes loaned cars to facilitate a review. These are my opinions of the car. First and foremost, I am not a car expert but a consumer, just like you. I look at these cars through my mom eyes and share the features that stand out to me, that I think you should know about.
Santa Fe Sport
The Santa Fe Sport, is the smaller (2-row) version of the Santa Fe. The “sport” name doesn’t so much describe the features package as much as just the size of the vehicle and engine included. This compact crossover is great! I had no expectations of the car, as I’m not super familiar with Hyundai as a brand, so I went in to it with open eyes. I was pleasantly surprised by a number of things.
Design
Whether it’s driving kid from activity to activity or just waiting for them in the car, moms spend a lot of time in the car. The front of the car is really nice. The materials felt great. The design seemed sophisticated and there was attention to detail that I wasn’t expecting. The interior and center console were well designed. There was premium wood trim on the dashboard and an easy to navigate control panel. The touchscreen was user-friendly and everything was literally right there at your fingertips. The car feels familiar but upgraded. And it may sound kind of silly, but the headrests were SUPER comfortable! I didn’t really even know that I rest my head back during a car trip so much. But the headrests really stood out to me! They felt like a pillow! Space
There was plenty of cargo space in the back for anything a mom could need. I think the space would nicely fit a stroller and for sure we can fit a few suitcases in here for a short road trip. The back seat was roomy and the kids found it really comfortable. A 3rd row of seats would be ideal for our family as we are starting to take more and more kids with us on adventures. But for running errands around town or going out to dinner as a family of four, this car is awesome. Fun to Drive!
I’ll be honest that I don’t know much about cars in terms of technical stuff. But I do know that this car is super fun to drive! It’s zippy. I had this car for a week and was really sad to give it back when the week was up. It felt powerful without being loud or super aggressive.
The exterior of the Santa Fe Sport was sleek and I loved this color (platinum graphite). It drives really quiet and there are a lot of really great upgrades available to make this car exactly what you want it to be.I found myself wanting to run errands! I usually prefer to stay at home but it was that fun to drive! The 6-speaker sound system was awesome and my music-loving 12-year-old gave them his stamp of approval (we listened to this playlist a LOT). The 5″ color LCD display has a rearview monitor that I loved! It made me feel super safe when trying to pull out of a parking spot or parallel park. That is a feature I don’t have on my current car but would LOVE!
2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
The 2018 Santa Fe Sport, was really fun to drive! I was super impressed with the car overall and I’d love to explore some of their other options that Hyundai has! This would be a great basic car for a small family, although there are plenty of options if you’re looking for something upgraded and a little more lux. It looks amazing, drives well and comes with great safety features.
I had a great time test driving the Santa Fe!
Also, if you have tweens in the house, check out this post on how I use rap music to open conversations with my son about all the things. It features a playlist we listen to (we listened to it a ton in the Santa Fe!).
